Just-picked veg from the Dales, the freshest seafood from Whitby, mushrooms foraged from our very own grounds and herbs from Raithwaite Sandsend’s organic garden … we don’t need to look far to find the best produce in Yorkshire for our stylishly redesigned Restaurant and Bar 1822, and that’s why we keep things simple, seasonal – and scrumptious. Four-legged friends are also welcome in our specially designated area, where you can tuck into great food all year round.

The Restaurant
Sit back in our warm, contemporary and intimate restaurant and sample the finest local produce with our seasonal all-day menu. Inspired by the great North Yorkshire countryside, our sustainable restaurant sources the finest local ingredients, creating delicious vegetarian and fresh seafood dishes, as well as Yorkshire favourites – and we’re proud to be known as one of the best restaurants in Whitby. We can also adapt most of our dishes to suit your dietary requirements, so please just ask or let us know in advance.
Bar 1822
Drop by our chic new Bar 1822 for a delicious lunch, or pop in for an early evening aperitif while you peruse our menu. We specialise in comforting Raithwaite estate favourites, making the most of our locally-sourced produce.
Afternoon tea served here or at The Restaurant, is a real event, complete with finger sandwiches, cakes, scones with cream and jam and a pot of tea – or a glass of bubbly.
Whitby Lunch
Drop by our newly revamped Restaurant for a delicious lunch near Whitby overlooking our beautiful gardens. We also serve lunch in Bar 1822, and if you’re bringing your four-legged friend with you, head to the dedicated dog-friendly bar area.
Lunch can be enjoyed all year, and in the summer months, a table can be arranged on the terrace where you can enjoy the views of the award-winning gardens. We regularly change our menu, offering a variety of vegetarian and meat options, giving you the perfect excuse to come back for a delicious Whitby lunch.
Afternoon Tea
Round off a leisurely afternoon in the historic seaside town of Whitby with an indulgent afternoon tea in our stylishly designed Bar 1822. Guests can enjoy a classic selection of treats such as homemade cakes, delicious finger sandwiches and freshly-baked scones, or opt for tempting savoury treats, lighter bites or gluten-free options, all served with a selection of loose-leaf teas or a glass of Champagne.
The Crab Shack
Just a glance at our menu and you can almost taste the sea. Our new Crab Shack offers traditional fish and chips and the freshest crab sandwiches, sourced from trusted Whitby harbour fishermen. Served just-cooked, you can tuck into quality fish al fresco on our relaxed and unfussy trestle tables or head down on the beach, just a five-minute walk away.
