Winning the Highly Commended Award in the annual Marie Claire Sustainability Awards is a huge boost for our hard-working team.
This month saw the second annual Marie Claire Sustainability Awards, a prestigious series of awards for the leading lights in fashion, beauty and travel. So we were suitably thrilled to have been Highly Commended in the Travel and Leisure category, taking our place amongst the world’s most sustainable and ethical travel companies, lodges and hotels.
This follows our recent win as the Most Sustainable Hotel in the UK at the annual Catey Awards, another feather in the cap of the incredibly hard-working team at Raithwaite Sandsend.
“Every accolade we get cements the positive regeneration we’re doing at Raithwaite Hotel,” says Ollie Hunter, our Food, Drink & Sustainability Director. “It’s a great achievement for the whole team, and especially our Green Leaders who work very hard.”
It’s this public recognition as a “brand with purpose” that makes our sustainability journey all the easier, and a sign that the steps we’re taking – from going zero-waste and fully-organic, to introducing our new organic Kitchen Garden and planting the UK’s first hotel forest garden – are all in the right direction.
